Musical Theatre Foundation Class – Sing and Act Combined

Our Musical Theatre Foundation Classes are a unique opportunity for those students who have a passion for both drama and singing to merge their talents and advance in both areas significantly.

The Musical Theatre Foundation class focuses skills to allow children to develop storytelling through song, simple dance choreography and scene work.

We draw from the traditional to the modern day Musical Theatre songs. The scenes are written and developed specifically for the class, creating a well-rounded performance opportunity for students to sing, dance and act as a whole experience.

Students develop solo and ensemble singing, incorporating movement and choreography as well as developing characters using physical and vocal techniques.

Musical Theatre Auditions

Each student must audition and/or trial for our classes before joining. For all Musical Theatre Classes they will be assessed during their trial lesson on their ability to sing with good pitch and a willingness to contribute.

In drama they will need to show an open and energised ability to collaborate in the activities and scenes.

Children are not expected to be highly competent in both areas, however a committed interest in both is essential.
