Georgia Hurford – Sing Out Loud Teacher
Georgia is a singer, actor and musical theatre performer who holds a Bachelor of Music (Jazz and Contemporary Voice) and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the Australian National University. Georgia was awarded an academic Music Scholarship at the ANU for her expertise in jazz voice.
Since graduating, Georgia has been touring Australia and New Zealand as a solo singer with the professional Irish dance and magic show Celtic Illusion. In 2023, Georgia also toured NSW and QLD schools with Mentally Sound, a pop/rock interactive musical about the importance of mental health. When she is not on tour, Georgia is a regular performer in the Canberra and Sydney music scene, performing solo and in various bands. She enjoys singing a variety of genres, particularly Musical Theatre, Folk, R&B, Soul and Jazz.
Georgia has had extensive acting training, culminating in a semester of clown and physical theatre study in France at Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Additionally, she has undertaken one-on-one and group classes with Chris Baldock in monologue and scene work. Since studying jazz voice and working under the wonderful Rachel Thoms, Georgia has worked closely with Emily Garth and Tracy Bourne to explore musical theatre singing and acting.
Georgia has worked for many years teaching a range of different styles of singing as well as running group choirs and musical theatre classes with people of all ages. She is passionate about sharing what she has learnt and experienced to help her students grow. She loves connecting with her students through music and believes in personalising her lessons to suit the learning styles of students, whilst creating a comfortable and fun space to explore.
