Brightsparks has become even brighter since it moved into it’s very own premises in Cremorne, offering children daily classes through the week and on Saturdays. The North shore premises operates as a performing arts school with classes in singing, drama and dance.
Our 2008 end of year production was a compilation of songs and devised music theatre scenes ranging from Annie through to High Musical. We had the lights, we had the stars, we had the news and the kids even did a little rapping, thrown in for good measure!
African Queen was a huge success and was performed by all the kids at the newly built Star of the Sea Theatre in Manly. The production had spectacular African animal and tribal costumes, fantastic lighting and sound with amazing performances from the children at Brightsparks aged five to twelve from Elanora Heights, Seaforth, and Newport.
Our holiday workshops run every school holidays and are a wonderful opportunity for children to gain confidence as well as learning the skills of singing and acting. At the end of the workshop, children perform to family and friends. Here are some singing and drama photos from just a few of our workshops.
Pictures here include a performance at Warringah Mall and Seaforth Public School fete. The children performed scenes and songs from Rockstar Super Brightspark. All the performances were superb.
Written by the directors of Brightsparks, Zoe Emanuel and Natasha Cupitt, this rocking spectacular is loosely based on the popular show Australian Idol and gave all of our children the opportunity to shine. It was jam packed with outstanding performances from the talented cast aged five to twelve from Newport, Elanora Heights, Seaforth, St Ives Park, West Pymble, Northbridge and Neutral Bay.
